Laila’s Place has become part of Newberry’s daily rhythm. In the mornings, regulars grab coffee and breakfast. At lunchtime, coworkers gather for sandwiches and hot plates. On weekends, families line up for donuts and ice cream.
No matter when you visit, you’ll always find the same things: food made from scratch, portions that fill you up, and service that makes you feel like family. That’s what hometown hospitality means to us.

Good Food is Everywhere — Hospitality is Rare
What Makes Laila’s Place Unique
Good food is easy to find, but a place that makes you feel like you belong is rare. At Laila’s Place, every detail — from the way recipes are made to the way guests are greeted — is rooted in the belief that food should be personal. We don’t just serve meals; we create moments that bring neighbors together and turn first-time visitors into regulars.
It’s this balance of scratch-made favorites, genuine hospitality, and community spirit that sets us apart. Whether you’re here for a weekday lunch, a Saturday donut run, or dessert with family, you’ll notice the difference in the care we put into every plate and every interaction. That’s why guests don’t just eat with us — they make us part of their routine.

Our Customers Say It Best
The Flavor of Our Community, in Their Own Words
Neighbors, families, and travelers all share the same story — good food and genuine service worth coming back for. Whether it’s lunch during the week, donuts on Saturday mornings, or ice cream with the kids, the voices of our guests say more than we ever could.
As I was eating a bacon cheese burger, I realized that I had to make a review of the food. The burger and fries were fresh, juicy and delicious. The service friendly and welcoming. The prices were reasonable. Although, full from eating we had to return later for milkshakes and cookies. Also, delicious.
